Gifted Awareness Week PD – Ethical Understanding in the AC:

Adding complexity and social insights into the curriculum for gifted students.

The Gifted and Talented Children’s Association of SA as part of the inaugural i
GIFTED AWARENESS WEEK (March 15th -22nd)
we invite you to this twilight PD session.

The development of ‘active and informed citizens’ who are ethical, is central to the purpose of education and too important to be left to chance. How confident are educators about teaching ethical understanding? This practical workshop will:

  • explain a scope and sequence model for developing ethical understanding
  • provide practical ethical reasoning strategies that teachers can apply across the curriculum
  • highlight possible ways in which teachers can embed ethical issues in their curriculum units

The workshop will be run by Lesley Henderson, who is a lecturer in the School of Education at Flinders University where she coordinates the Gifted Education specialisation within the postgraduate courses, and is the Assistant Dean, Teaching and Learning.
