Supporting Social and Emotional Learning through Literature
Thursday 28th September 2017 at 7pm
Gifted children may require explicit support to develop their social skills and regulate their emotions.
Britta Jureckson is a teacher in primary gifted education, and has found the use of quality literature and picture books to be effective in supporting the social and emotional learning of her students.
This parent evening will introduce several texts which may be used with primary age children to encourage discussion and management of emotions. Follow up activity suggestions will be provided.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available after the talk and parents are invited to ask questions during the session. As this session is specifically aimed at adults, we have no facility to entertain children.
