Updating the GTCASA constitution
GTCASA needs a new constitution!
We ask all members to cast their vote for or against the new constitution.
A majority of all members must vote in favour of the constitution for it to be adopted.
The new constitution will be officially proposed as a Special Resolution at the AGM on 3 September. However, members can vote by proxy, either online or by e-mailing giftedsa@gtcasa.asn.au. Those voting by proxy must do so by midnight on Friday, 2 September, 2016.
Members can choose to:
- vote in favour of the new constitution
- vote against adopting the new constitution
- assign their vote to the chairperson of the AGM.
- assign their vote to someone who will be present at the AGM. (The person must be named.)
Background information about why the constitution needs updating and what changes have been made is available here. The main change is the quorum required for an AGM. The old constitution requires a quorum of 20. The new constitution requires a quorum of 10 members or one-sixth of the membership, whichever is the lesser. The new constitution also has a better process for rescheduling an AGM in the even that the quorum is not reached.
